Growing up in Massachusetts as Bharati, I have always been the Indian girl with the funny name.  When I moved to Texas over 10 years ago, I was told I was leaving a liberal-minded, Democrat-led Massachusetts for a stalwartly conservative-minded, Republican-led Texas.  Today I can say that, for the first time in those 10 years deep in the heart of Texas, I wholeheartedly believe we can change the political landscape and future mindset of our great state.
